El 1 pasa al 2 y sigue su pase con el desplazamiento de movilidad.

Objective

Raise body temperature and mobilise hips, ankles and trunk while repeating quality passes and first touches with both feet.

Organisation

15x15 m square with a cone on each corner and two or three players per cone. Two balls circulating in the same direction from opposite corners.

Development

  1. 1The player with the ball passes to the next corner and follows the pass with the movement the coach calls: skipping, heel flicks, lunges, hip rotations or side steps.
  2. 2The receiver takes a directional first touch towards the next cone and passes with the first or second touch.
  3. 3Change the movement every two minutes and the direction every four so players pass and receive with the other foot.
  4. 4In the final phase the receiver feints before receiving and the passer accelerates the last metres to the next line.
  5. 5Finish with four minutes at high tempo and one touch.

Coaching points4

  • Inside-foot pass, along the ground, to the team-mate's far foot.
  • Directional first touch: the first touch already faces the next cone.
  • Mobility movements done properly with full range, not half-hearted.
  • The passer calls, the receiver shows a hand for the ball.

Common mistakes3

  • Jogging after the pass without doing the mobility exercise.
  • Touches towards the ball that force a third touch.
  • Two balls catching up because one group goes faster.

Variations3

  • Wall pass with the next cone before passing on.
  • Receive back to goal and turn with the first touch.
  • Three balls with larger groups.

Progressions2

  • Shrink the square and demand one touch.
  • Add a passive defender in the middle blocking passing lines.

Regressions2

  • Bigger square and free touches.
  • One ball until the rhythm settles.

Tips

  • Start with gentle mobility and leave sprints for the last minutes.
  • Use cones of different colours so players know the direction of rotation.
